Los Angeles

I arrived in Los Angeles on August 30th, well technically I arrived in Pasadena, but most of the things I saw were in LA.  Thanks to my cousin Kristi and her husband Matt for letting me mooch off of them.

Fork in the Road

Kristi showed me around Pasadena a little; Fork in the Road, Colorado Blvd., Colorado  Bridge (aka Suicide Bridge), and the Rose Bowl.

Nightmare on Elm Street

Since I was in LA I wanted to see some famous locations including some of the filming sights for Nightmare on Elm Street; John Marshall High School, Lincoln Heights Jail (the boiler room scene), and Nancy's house.

Famous

We went to the Griffith Observatory and tried to hike up to the Hollywood sign, but the trail and shuttle were closed.

Bangin' hot dogs

And of course the Conan O'Brien show.  When I first arrived the Security Guard told me I was the first person, but since I got there so early I decided to move some stuff around in my car, which ended up making me fourth in line, hold on there's a reason to this story.  When we finally got into the show, the guy who warms up the crowd talked to the whack newlyweds from Canada who were now technically first.  But even though I ended up being fourth it was really cool to see behind the scenes AND I sat right next to Andy Richter AND it was free.

Conan O'Brien

By the way, you don't actually have to get to the show at 11 am, I got there early because I wanted to make sure I got in, but people were rolling in at three and had no problem.
